"Description will be added"

Autosomal dominant trait with incomplete penetration. In dogs with the SD allele in the genotype, sebum secretion is impaired, which leads to increased hair loss. One copy of the SD allele enhances relatively low to moderate molting. In the case of the SD / SD genotype (two copies of the SD allele), increased shedding is observed, leading to a high degree of hair loss. The SD locus should be considered in conjunction with the Wh locus (coat structure): dogs with the SD / SD f / f genotype show the greatest degree of abnormal molting (shedding). Various combinations of genotypes at the SD and Wh locus can cause intermediate states of molting.
