Description
Fanconi syndrome is a disorder in which the absorption of electrolytes and high molecular weight compounds in the proximal renal tubules develops, which leads to their intensive excretion from the body in the urine.

Develop Fanconi syndrome, usually seen between the ages of four and eight. The earlier the disease is detected, the less damage is done to tissues and organs, and the more chances a dog has to live a long and healthy life. Early diagnosis of the disease is extremely important for the timely adoption of appropriate measures to prevent the development of the disease!

Symptoms
The main symptoms include excessive water intake (polydipsia), excessive urination (polyuria), increased urinary glucose (glucosuria), impaired appetite, vomiting, lethargy. Cumulative exhaustion of the body leads to loss of muscle mass, acidosis, deterioration of the general condition and, ultimately, death of the animal.

Diagnostics
A general biochemical blood test can show elevated blood urea nitrogen and creatinine, low levels of potassium and bicarbonate. Increased levels of sodium, potassium, glucose, phosphate, bicarbonate and amino acids in urine.
