Hereditary diseases

Description
Juvenile laryngeal palsy / polyneuropathy is a disease caused by a mutation inherited in an autosomal recessive manner.

Symptoms
At the initial stage (the puppy is about three months old), the disease manifests itself in the form of shortness of breath after exertion, barking may change. This is due to the fact that the disease primarily affects the longest nerve endings that innervate the larynx. The next in length are the nerves that innervate the hind limbs, therefore, subsequently, these symptoms are joined by the weakness of the hind, and subsequently, the front limbs. Difficulty swallowing may also appear.
